American Red Cross workers and volunteers have been my work family for more than 34 years, and I am proud and eager to continue working with those in West Michigan.

Dear Red Cross Supporters,

My wife, Nancy, and I are extremely excited to be returning to Michigan, and I am even more delighted to be spending my future years serving the Red Cross in West Michigan. I was raised in Houghton, Michigan, and worked with the Red Cross in Lansing for several years before moving to Nebraska, back to Michigan to work for NHQ and then Florida, so this is really a homecoming celebration for me.

American Red Cross workers and volunteers have been my work family for more than 34 years, and I am proud and eager to continue working with those in West Michigan. This area is known for its generous and compassionate people who care tremendously about the communities in which they live. I am honored to become a part of you.

Because of your generosity with your time, wisdom, blood and money, we are able to help those in our community who experience a disaster, need to contact a family member in the military, need blood or blood products, need our transportation or want to learn life-saving skills through a Red Cross course. Our volunteers are talented and caring and we encourage you to bring your friends and neighbors to join us.

Thank you for all of your support and for making West Michigan an even better place to be.

With Gratitude,

Sam Tidwell

CEO, American Red Cross of West Michigan
