Dear Los Angeles Region Board,
Today on the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month, let us pause to remember America's Veterans and celebrate their contributions to our way of life.
I know you join me in valuing the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have served in previous wars, and those who are serving today. As we remember their selfless sacrifice, let's recognize also the pride with which they have offered their service and, as grateful citizens, say Thank You.
As we continue our work in support of Veterans, today is also a day to share with them one message, loud and clear: we are with you every step of the way.
Whether you are at home, deployed or in a hospital, we say a resounding Thank You and remind you, we are at your side offering comfort.
To all the family members that have waited with baited breath, wondering if the Veteran is safe and fed, the Red Cross not only says Thank You, but is there to offer support to you, too.
To our Red Cross family we say Thank You for all you are doing to support our work on behalf of our nation’s heroes and their families. We at the Red Cross stand to answer the call of selfless service and commitment as Another Way to Serve through Volunteerism. Your support is needed to help us recruit volunteers and work with the SAFV team to advance our shared cause of supporting Veterans, Service Members, and their Families during the pre and post deployment phases of their service. Through your continued commitment to volunteer you have risen to the ranks of Heroes!
Thank you for all you do, and thanks in advance to those of you that will continue to serve over this Holiday weekend.
