American Red Cross volunteers are attending the Greene County Youth Fair Thursday, July 19th and Friday, July 20th. The Greene Youth County Fair collaborates with the Greene County Agricultural Society to host events throughout the day, including pig racing, rabbit and goat shows, and a police canine demo.
On Friday afternoon, American Red Cross interns will be set up in the Kids Corner, where a Scrubby Bear presentation will be held at 1pm. Scrubby Bear is a presentation that teaches children disease prevention through proper hygiene. A Be Red Cross Ready presentation will be held in the main pavilion at 6pm to teach individuals how to be prepared in the case of a disaster or emergency. Citizen CPR will be ongoing Thursday and Friday, teaching individuals the hands-only CPR technique that can help save a life.
The American Red Cross volunteers are excited to be working with the organizers of the Greene County Fair. We are looking forward to presenting and training both children and adults a variety of programs offered by the American Red Cross.
About the American Red Cross
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization – not a government agency – and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American Public to perform its mission.
