The American Red Cross Grand Canyon Chapter has hired Scott Keyes as Resilience Specialist and Cynthia Snyder as Yuma County Disaster Services Specialist, with both starting Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Keyes is transferring to the Grand Canyon Chapter from the Mountain Valley Chapter in Provo, Utah, where he served as Emergency Services Readiness and Resilience Lead Specialist. Holding a bachelor’s degree in sociology, Keyes has experience with client casework and community disaster education, and most recently, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Utility Assistance program within the Utah Region. His main responsibilities with the Grand Canyon Chapter will be to deliver the programs and services of the Prepare Arizona program, which include Team Firestoppers, wildfire outreach and disaster preparedness education. Holding a bachelor’s in psychology, Snyder was employed by both for-profit and nonprofit agencies dealing with case management and community resource referrals.
