American Red Cross Northeast Ohio Readiness Center

Open House Held on January 16th

The American Red Cross NEO Region proudly displayed the new NEO Readiness Center during an Open House on January 16. Red Cross volunteers and staff from the Region hosted the event, promoting this important new investment for the safety, security and wellbeing of the residents of Northeast Ohio.

The Readiness Center is located at the Richland County American Red Cross Chapter in Mansfield, Ohio and functions as a storage and distribution facility for basic Red Cross response and relief materials such as cots, blankets, vehicles, equipment and more. Because of its central location and easy access to Ohio’s interstate transportation network, the facility allows the Red Cross to quickly and easily transport critical supplies to support large scale relief operations at any point in Northeast Ohio – and beyond.

The events during the open house included a tour of the facility along with a special dedication ceremony. American Red Cross volunteers and staff members concluded the event by paneling a Red Cross Roundtable: The Response to Hurricane Sandy: Lessons for Community Readiness.
