American Red Cross will celebrate their 10th annual Oscar Night on Sunday, February 24 from 6 - 10 p.m. at the Owens Community College Center for Fine and Performing Arts.

Guests to this black-tie event will enjoy star-treatment from the moment they walk the red carpet, where they will be greeted by screaming fans and interviewed by Chrys Peterson and Jerry Anderson from Toledo News Now. Guests will dine on upscale hors d’oeuvres generously donated by nearly 30 of Toledo’s finest restaurants and dance to the sounds of The Homewreckers and Hepcat Revival. Participants can also vie for one of ten movie-themed “presenter baskets” valued at over $500 and including a trip to Las Vegas, football tickets to The Ohio State University and University of Michigan, a Jacuzzi suite, and other hotel stays.

“We’re thankful for all the hard work our volunteers have put in to make this event a success.” says Tim Yenrick, Regional CEO, “Through the support of our community we are able to provide essential services to those who need it most.”

This year’s Red Cross Oscar Night, presented by Columbia Gas of Ohio and Hollywood Casino Toledo, is an opportunity for community members to raise funds for programs and services of the American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio. Proceeds provide critical services and lifesaving training for families and individuals in our community including disaster preparedness, disaster relief and recovery assistance, support for military members and their families and much more.

This year’s Honorary Chairs are Dr. Mike Bower from Owens Community College his wife Carol. The Oscar Night Co-Chairs are Stephanie Kuhlman and Kevin Kwiatkowski.

“Guests can put on their finest, have a good time, and support local Red Cross efforts,” says Kuhlman a commercial agent with Danberry Commercial. Kuhlman has been involved since 2008 and coordinates all of the restaurants for the event. “I love that every dollar donated stays here in Northwest Ohio to help families in need. It’s my way of giving back to a wonderful local organization.”
