The 8th annual Red Cross BASH once again entertained over 300 guests on April 13 at the MAPS Air Museum Hanger. The hanger’s unique decorations of post-war memorabilia always add a nice flair to the event. Throughout the evening, guests, dressed in everything from military to medical; to red, white and blue attire, bid on over 250 silent auction items.
The evening hours flew by as BASH participants were entertained by the Master of Ceremonies, Kayleigh Kriss, Mix 94.1 FM – WHBC; listened to music and took advantage of the Smart TV and Kindle raffle along with a 50/50 drawing. At the conclusion of the “chow line,” an enthusiastic crowd then bid on 23 live auction items. A few of the items the winning bidders went home with included: trips to Hilton Head and Disney World, a Blue Diamond necklace, sporting event tickets and dinner parties.
The success of this year’s BASH can be attributed to the 52 volunteer committee members and the co-chairs, Jim and Sue Van Etten. Jim and Sue are also Disaster Action Team volunteers and did an exemplary job on organizing BASH. All in all, the event ended on a positive note for the Stark County Red Cross, providing great visibility as well as raising money to support the many programs and services the Stark County Red Cross provides to the community.
