Carolina Field of Honor Dedication

Red Cross volunteer talking to a military family
The organization has been there for our service men in all wars.

Triad residents have a long history of serving our country. There are many veterans living in the area and it is important that we honor them –and those who died for our country.

This weekend, the Carolina Field of Honor will be dedicated. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 7:00 PM.  Many people are expected to attend so it may be a good idea to come early and bring a lawn chair or blanket.

The Red Cross name will be featured on an obelisk because we have had such a long-standing relationship with the military. The organization has been there for our service men in all wars. Even today, our Services to Armed Forces serves veterans, those on active duty and their families. We work with the government to get messages to our military. If someone’s family member is about to pass away, we try to make it possible for them to get home to say good-bye. When someone gets back from their service and has to re-adjust to life at home, we try to help bridge the gap. We also try to serve our veterans.
