Colorado Wildfire Update: 8 Shelters Open as of 4:30 pm 6-27

When disasters like the current wild fire strike and people need to flee their homes, the Red Cross is there to provide a safe place to stay, a warm meal and emotional support. Since the wild fires began, hundreds of Colorado residents have found a safe haven at Red Cross shelters across the state. Currently eight shelters remain open in the following locations.

•HIGH PARK FIRE – Cache La Poudre Junior High School – 3515 West County Road 54G, Laporte

•WALDO CANYON FIRE

◦Cheyenne Mountain High School – 1200 Cresta Road, Colorado Springs

◦Summit Elementary School – 490 Meadow Park Drive, Divid

◦YMCA Southeast Family Center, 2190 Jetwing Drive, Colorado Springs

◦Lewis Palmer High School, 1300 Higby Road Monument

◦Cripple Creek Victor Jr. High School, 410 B Street, Cripple Creek

•WEBER FIRE – Cortez High School – 206 West 7th Ave, Cortez

•FLAGSTAFF FIRE – East Boulder Recreation Center, 5660 Sioux Drive, Boulder
