This is a tremendous honor for both our fundraising team and the entire Region

Denver, Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 – The Development Team for the American Red Cross Colorado & Wyoming Region was awarded the national Humanitarian Services Award at a ceremony in Washington D.C. Feb.18, 2015. The award was presented by Red Cross President and CEO Gail McGovern in recognition of their significant contributions to supporting the Red Cross mission through successful fundraising in fiscal year 2014.

The team exceeded their fundraising target by 49 percent in FY2014, which represented the highest performance to budget in the chapter network in a year when most of the chapter network underperformed to budget.

Chief Development Officer Jeff Riley was on hand to accept the award along with Colorado & Wyoming CEO Gino Greco. “This is a tremendous honor for both our fundraising team and the entire Region."  Riley said. “The high quality work done by all of our volunteers and employees helped generate the outstanding financial support we received from our donors."

Team members recognized in the award included, Chris Allen, Missy Diehl, Mahala Evans, Jenni Gasbarro, Tom Gonzalez, Gino Greco, Sara Hazel, Paul Jonas, James Knowles, Katie Lovatt, Angela Melvin, Erin Mounsey, Eric Myers, Spencer Pollock, Jeff Riley and MaryBeth Riopel.

The Colorado &Wyoming Region experienced several large-scale disasters in 2013 and 2014, but was not the only region to experience such disasters during that time. It is the system, its team, processes and culture of generating results that has allowed the Colorado & Wyoming Region to achieve significant fundraising success following those disasters and to perform so significantly to budget.
