Continued Help for Families Displaced by Port Washington Blaze

This morning, 20 adults displaced by the March 14 five-alarm fire on Main Street in Port Washington, N.Y., continue to receive safe refuge at the American Red Cross shelter located at the Port Washington Senior Citizens Center. The Red Cross is meeting their immediate needs for a safe, warm place to overnight, meals, health and mental health services. The families have been speaking one-on-one with Red Cross caseworkers to determine their longer-term needs. The shelter remains open to assist those affected by this destructive fire and help them get back on the road to recovery.
