The McCallie School Sports and Activites Center offers a series of Red Cross Lifeguarding courses at its facility located at 500 Dodds Avenue in Chattanooga. Courses, consisting of six classes each, start March 19 and April 25, with classes meeting on a Tuesday or Thursday and two weekends.
The cost is $220 per person and a $135.00 nonrefundable deposit is required. Class size is limited to 10 people each and students must be at least 15 years of age, proof required at registration. Those interested may bring their deposit to the McCallie Pool office Monday through Thursday between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.

The first class day meets from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. and includes registration, class format, water test and class homework. The first weekend, the class will meet from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. There will be a half-hour lunch break on Saturday around 11:30 a.m. The second weekend, the class will meet from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday 8:30 – until the class is over. It is required that students read the material in the book before attending class. Participants will need to go to www.redcross.org to download book and the instructor can provide additional information. Participants are required to attend all class meetings.
