Findlay Family Receives Red Cross Aid After Fire

A Findlay family driven from their home by fire has shelter, food and clothing, along with comfort kits of personal hygiene items, thanks to the American Red Cross of Hancock County. The family lost their home to a fire on Blanchard Avenue in Findlay on Saturday afternoon, April 13. Red Cross volunteer disaster responders Ruth Bordner and Bette Richard assisted the family, assessing their immediate needs and providing assistance.

The Red Cross is continuing to aid another Findlay family that lost their home on S. Main Street to fire on Thursday evening.

Red Cross caseworkers will continue to assist the families as needed and will help with the long term recovery planning with resources, information and referrals.

All Red Cross disaster relief is provided free of charge, thanks to the generosity of the American people. If you’d like to make a donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, visit, text “REDCROSS” to 90999 or call (419) 422-9322.
