American Red Cross volunteers responded to a fire scene in the Allston neighborhood of Boston this morning.
Called in by the Boston Fire Department, the volunteers were able to assist ten individuals – nine residents and one guest.
On the scene, American Red Cross volunteers were able to provide four hotel rooms for the residents; They were able to offer emergency funds to the residents for food, clothing, coats, shoes and food. Blankets and comfort kits (toiletries like tooth brushes and razors) were also distributed on scene.
This was a long fire response. Red Cross volunteers were able to feed not only those affected by the fire but about 40 first responders as well.
