Local Family of 8 Receive Red Cross Fire-Related Assistance

American Red Cross of the Heartland Disaster Action Team volunteers provided Red Cross emergency assistance to a local family of eight on Sunday, February 17, 2013 after their mobile home received major smoke damage.

The family was displaced from their home, so assistance was given for several night's stay at a motel, food, and seasonal garments.

The public can help those affected by home fires and other disasters by making a donation at redcross.org/heartland or by calling 309-662-0500. Your gift enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to victims of all disasters.
