Local Red Cross Elects New Board Members

The American Red Cross Serving King & Kitsap Counties elected Cara Bailey, Doug Bowerstock, Rob Howell, Carr Krueger, Jane Morrow, Dori Ruschmeier, Sarah Yu and John Zavaglia to its volunteer Board of Directors. Each member will serve a three-year term. Deborah Haug was re-elected as board chair for a one-year term.

“These new members will play a critical role in shaping the strategic vision of the local Red Cross,” said Randy Hutson, Red Cross CEO. “They bring a combination of leadership skills and passion that will help make our community safe and strong.”

The new board members include:

Cara Bailey, Vice President of Continuous Performance Improvement, Seattle Children's Hospital

Doug Bowersock, Human Resources Director, Weyerhaeuser Timberlands and International

Rob Howell, Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager, Key Bank

Carr Krueger, Executive Vice President – Human Capital, Hitachi Consulting

Jane Morrow, Partner, Otorowski Johnston Morrow & Golden

Dori Ruschmeier, a community leader

Sarah Yu, a student at Thomas Jefferson High School

John Zavaglia, Senior Manager, Accounting, Valuation and Analytics Practice, Deloitte & Touche LLP

This will be Haug’s second consecutive year as board chair. She served as a Red Cross board member for more than eight years before stepping into the role of chair, and has volunteered with a variety of nonprofit organizations. Haug is the chief executive officer of Perkins Coie Capital Management.
