Local Red Cross Responds to Wyncote Condo Fire

More than 40 Red Cross volunteers and employees worked more than 40 hours responding to a massive condo complex fire in Wyncote, Montgomery County between Friday, October 5th and Sunday, October 7th.

A shelter was set up at nearby Cheltenham High School where displaced residents could stay the night or stop in to gather information and meet with Red Cross caseworkers to receive financial assistance.

In all, the Red Cross provided financial assistance for food, clothing, shelter, medications and other emergency needs to 40 families, 55 people affected by this large fire.

The Red Cross also worked closely with other community partners to help facilitate a community response to this disaster.
