Kevin Miles and Ahmad Bashir are one of Central Maryland’s most active, reliable Disaster Response Teams – especially for fires that occur between midnight and 7 a.m.!
Kevin, a retired Baltimore City Police Officer, began his career as a Red Cross volunteer in 2013. He was involved in a devastating fire at his Middle River home, which almost claimed his life. He vowed to give back to the Red Cross because of the amount of support he received during his own incident.
Ahmad also began volunteering in 2013, after many years of service in the US Army and the Department of Corrections. Kevin & Ahmad joined forces in 2014 after realizing they both live in Eastern Baltimore County. The pair has been unstoppable ever since; unselfishly make themselves available day and night to assist those impacted by disaster. When dispatchers have difficulty finding a team for fires, Kevin & Ahmad frequently answer the call to respond. They work diligently and during some of the toughest shifts to make sure those affected by a fire are comforted and given hope. Thank you Kevin and Ahmad for all that you do!
