The Cumberland Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS) featuring Aon Risk Solutions as the title sponsor, hosted 150 local insurance executives for their 7th Annual educational symposium at the Marriott in Cool Springs. Mayor Karl Dean spoke about his experience during the 2010 Nashville floods and how many organizations and citizens worked together to meet the needs of the community. Following Mayor Dean’s speech, a check presentation was made to the American Red Cross by the Mayor and the President of the local RIMS Board of Directors.
“We are very grateful for their support and recognition of our response role during the flood,” said Regional CEO, Joel Sullivan. “Gifts like these are the lifeblood of our organization and allow us to have the capacity and resources to respond to disasters down the street and across the Nation.”
Aon is also one of the distinguished corporate members of the American Red Cross - Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP), which enables the relief organization to respond immediately to the needs of individuals and families impacted by disaster anywhere in the United States. They do so by helping build a reliable funding base for disaster relief services.
Typically, RIMS provides gifts to speakers and sponsors at the event each year. This year, the Board opted to make a contribution to the Red Cross, in lieu of gifts, to thank them for their involvement during the flood and ongoing disaster response work in the community every day.
