Multiple shelters open for stranded motorists

Multiple shelters are open tonight, January 5, for stranded motorists unable to continue on dangerous, snow-covered roads.  The Litchfield and Tuscola shelters are community shelters supported by the Red Cross as needed, and the Mattoon location is a Red Cross shelter.

Mattoon, IL - First Presbyterian Church located at x-apple-data-detectors://1" x-apple-data-detectors="true" x-apple-data-detectors-result="1" x-apple-data-detectors-type="address">10 Charleston Avenue.
Tuscola, IL - Eagle Mountain Church located at x-apple-data-detectors://2" x-apple-data-detectors="true" x-apple-data-detectors-result="2" x-apple-data-detectors-type="address">401 E. Sale Street.

Local Red Cross officials are in constant contact with emergency management and stand ready to open or support more shelters as needed.
