The American Red Cross, Nashville Area Chapter is hosting the 11th Annual Lifesaver Breakfast on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 7:30 am, at Lipscomb University in Allen Arena.
This year, the Red Cross is highlighting the centerpiece of their mission – their clients. Noted New York Times bestselling author, Jon Meacham, will be facilitating the storytelling portion of the event to help showcase the compelling stories of the individuals they serve every day. The breakfast is being chaired by Bill Krueger of Nissan, with presenting sponsors including Dollar General, Ingram, Lipscomb University, Nissan and Yates Construction. Red Cross is expecting over 500 of Nashville’s most influential business and community leaders at the event which ensures the financial funding necessary to provide the core humanitarian services of the American Red Cross that will be the focus of the Breakfast including; local disaster response, services to the Armed Forces, international relief, lifesaving blood collection and preparedness health and safety training.
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation's blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.
