Prepare Your Company for a Disaster

American Red Cross Ready Rating
Drills are customizable and organizations receive a post-drill report, feedback and coaching.

Disasters and emergencies often strike with little or no warning, but their effects can hurt a business for weeks or longer.

Whether it’s a superstorm such as Hurricane Sandy or recent tornadoes or floods, these disasters are reminders of the importance of being prepared. Many businesses that were affected are open today because they had planned ahead and taken some very basic actions to get ready – and the American Red Cross has programs that help businesses.

Ready Rating

The Ready Rating™ program is a free, web-based program that helps businesses, schools and other organizations to assess their readiness level for events that could potentially disrupt their operations. Members complete a self-paced assessment and received instant, customized feedback with resources to improve their score. Program features include:

  • An Emergency Response Plan Tool that helps determine what to do during the first 24 to 72 hours of a disaster.
  • A Resource Center that includes activities and exercises to practice preparedness plans.
  • A Ready Rating Store featuring emergency supplies available for purchase.
  • First Aid Emergency Drills

The First Aid Emergency Drills program provides organizations with realistic simulations to test their ability to respond to medical emergencies. Drills are customizable and organizations receive a post-drill report, feedback and coaching.
