Red Cross Helping 3 Families after Fire In Baltimore

Red Cross caseworkers will continue to assist everyone involved until all of their immediate needs have been met.

American Red Cross of the Chesapeake Region workers are on the scene tonight offering help to three families affected by a fire on the 1600 block of Sheffield Road in Baltimore. The Red Cross is determining the needs of those affected at this time and but typically offers assistance ranging from emergency shelter and financial assistance to replace food, clothing and other necessities. Red Cross caseworkers will continue to assist everyone involved until all of their immediate needs have been met.

More than twice a day the American Red Cross provides basic needs to disaster victims such as emergency shelter, food, clothing and counseling to Maryland families after disasters thanks to major support from donors to the United Way campaigns in Maryland. Each day the Red Cross also provides lifesaving blood to area hospitals; teaches lifesaving skills; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its humanitarian mission.
