Red Cross Opens Shelter

Opened an evacuation center for those affected by the fire in Murrieta.

Riverside, Calif. – The American Red Cross has opened an evacuation center for those affected by the fire in the Murrieta area.

The center is located at:

Murrieta Valley High School, 42200 Nighthawk Way, Murrieta, CA 92562

Local residents are encouraged to listen to authorities for updated evacuation information and take the following precautions:

  • Be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.
  • Back cars into the garage or park an open space facing the direction of escape.
  • Confine pets to one room so that you can find them if you need to evacuate quickly.
  • Keep indoor air clean by closing windows and doors to prevent outside smoke from getting in.
