Fire Safety
Red Cross volunteers provided the students with blankets and comfort kits.

The American Red Cross responded to a dormitory fire on the campus of Northeastern Colorado Junior College in Sterling, CO, that affected the rooms of 10 students and temporarily displaced a total of 50.

A Red Cross Disaster Action Team responded to the Dallas Hall Dorm on the campus of Northeastern College to assess damages and determine how the Red Cross could help those displaced by the fire. The volunteers worked one-on-one with displaced students to help ensure their disaster-related needs were met. All of the displaced students were able to receive accommodations within another college building. Red Cross volunteers provided them with blankets and comfort kits (toothbrushes, soap, wash rags, etc.) and met with them today to determine additional, individual needs.
