Red Cross Thanks You for Giving

Thank You for Giving
Thank you for your support of the American Red Cross.

The American Red Cross could not accomplish its mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies without our wonderful supporters who give of themselves to sustain the work we do. As we all gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, we thank them for their contributions.

Each day, our supporters put the lifesaving Red Cross mission into action in communities across the country and around the world. On this day of thanks, we reflect not only on the blessings bestowed upon us, but also on the work of these wonderful people whose support allows us to serve those in need.

THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING 2015 has seen its share of disasters striking communities across the country. As of last week, more than 16,500 Red Cross disaster workers answered the call to help during more than 170 disaster operations. Some assisted members of their own communities. Others left their homes and families and traveled across the country to help when wildfires, floods or other large disasters occurred.

Red Cross disaster workers lend a hand when someone is facing one of their darkest hours. They make sure those impacted by disaster have a safe place to stay, food to eat and help with planning their way to recovering from the devastation. They offer comfort and help with medical needs. On behalf of all those helped by Red Cross disaster workers both here in the United States and around the world – thank you.

THANK YOU FOR GIVING BLOOD Every two seconds, someone in this country needs blood. The American Red Cross collects about 5.6 million blood donations every year to help surgical patients, accident victims, cancer patients, burn victims and so many others who need blood to help them regain their health. These blood donations come from more than three million generous volunteer blood donors who roll up their sleeve to help another.

These blood donors share a generous spirit and give of themselves to help others. On behalf of the patients their donations help – thank you.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATION Everything the American Red Cross does to help the people we serve happens because of the generous support of our financial supporters. Individuals, groups, corporations who support the Red Cross are there for the millions of people who need our help every year. To our financial supporters: On behalf of all we serve – thank you.

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO In addition to the wonderful blood donors who support Red Cross Blood Services, the people who make financial contributions and the terrific disaster volunteers who support Red Cross Disaster Cycle Services, volunteers help in so many other ways. They teach first aid and CPR, water safety, babysitting and other classes to members of their community. They support patients in military and Veterans Administration hospitals. They serve on local Red Cross boards and give their time in our Red Cross chapters. More than 340,000 people volunteer with the Red Cross and help us carry out our humanitarian work.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we thank all of you for your support of the American Red Cross.
