Red Cross Welcomes New Preparedness Manager for San Benito County

October 8, 2012 (HOLLISTER, CA) – The American Red Cross Monterey Bay Area Chapter has appointed Nancy (Nants) Foley, a seasoned executive in the fields of nonprofit management, technology systems, real estate and architectural design, as Preparedness Manager for San Benito County. She began the new position on October 1, 2012 working out of the American Red Cross’ Hollister Office at 357 Fifth St.

“We are all very excited to have Nants support our dedicated team of San Benito County volunteers,” said Timothy Duncan, American Red Cross Monterey Bay Area Chapter CEO. “She has the right combination of business, volunteer and community knowledge necessary to motivate and support our volunteers’ efforts to help prepare San Benito County.”

As the Preparedness Manager, Ms. Foley will focus on disaster preparedness and response, volunteer support and management, community relations, fundraising stewardship and overseeing day-to-day operations of the Monterey Bay Area Chapter’s Hollister facility.

A San Benito County resident since 1990, Ms.Foley is a true renaissance woman. She has degrees in Architecture and Business, has worked in education and medicine and even teaches and choreographs Classical Ballet while helping to raise Lipizzan horses and Navajo Churro sheep on her family farm.

Ms.Foley has served as an architect with Gensler and Associates; Kaplan McLaughlin and Diaz; Director of Customer Service, Training and Communication with Medicom; a Real Estate Broker with Intero Real Estate Services, Coldwell Banker; a Business Educator: University of Phoenix; Gavilan College; Regional Occupational Program; a Project Manager for the San Benito Office of Education and is Founder and Executive Director of Slow Food San Benito Bounty.

Ms.Foley has a Master of Business Administration from CA State University San Francisco; a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the College of Environmental Design, University of California, Berkeley. Her husband, Tim Foley, is a retired County Superintendent of Schools and runs their farm, Quicksilver Farm and School of Husbandry.
