Red Cross continues Sandy relief effort

Local volunteers respond to Hurricane Sandy

As work continues in states hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, donors and volunteers continue to support our disaster relief efforts.

The American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts has deployed nearly 50 staffers and volunteers to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Rhode Island. There, they have been supporting shelter operations, assisting displaced residents, serving meals and working with communities to provide relief.

We have served more than 7.5 million meals and snacks so far, handed out more than 5.3 million relief items and deployed more than 300 feeding trucks to impacted neighborhoods.

We ask for your help in assisting others. You could train to become a disaster volunteer, or fund this long-term relief effort by calling 1-800-REDCROSS or visiting this page.
