Eastern MA 09/06/12 Red Cross helping Fall River cleanup

After flash flooding in Fall River on Wednesdsay, American Red Cross volunteers were touring damaged areas like Presidents Avenue and Carl Street, assessing the damage.

Red Crossers met with Fall River officials and Doug Forbes of the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. Fall River Fire reported two homes and the city landfill were struck by lightning.

Today (Thursday) American Red Cross volunteers will be handing out cleaning kits at the Fall River City Hall at 1 Government Center. Cleaning kits, provided for free to affected residents, will be handed out by American Red Cross volunteers.
