The American Red Cross offers support for holiday celebrations in storm affected areas. On December 15, the Red Cross participated in the Little Axe Community Holiday Celebration as well as the Carney Celebrates events.
In Little Axe, the Red Cross provided interactive children’s preparedness activity stations for children while their parents “shopped” for presents. The community pulled together to provide the shopping experience for 80 to 100 families affected by the May tornadoes.
In Carney, Red Cross volunteers provided important disaster preparedness information to residents at the Carney Celebrates event. Volunteers briefed citizens on Red Cross services as well as the opportunities through the Oklahoma Disaster Recovery Project.
For those needing help from the May storms a help-line has been established, call 1-866-477-7276.
