Red Cross to Participate in Safety & Health Conference

Gosh Conference
With assessments, online resources, and mobile capabilities, organizations not only strengthened their program’s foundation, but also learn how to continuously improve it, and engage in new ideas and features.

The Oregon Red Cross is proud to participate in the 2013 Oregon Governor's Occupational Safety & Health Conference (GOSH). With more than 150 workshops and sessions, GOSH is the largest event of its kind in the Northwest. The Red Cross will deliver a presentation titled BusinessREADY on Wednesday, March 6 from 2:30-5 p.m. The conference itself is scheduled to take place from March 4-7 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.

Francisco Ianni, director of emergency preparedness, and Steven Eberlein, sales manager of the health and safety services division, will lead the presentation to discuss Ready Rating, a program that helps businesses, schools and organizations prepare for disasters and other emergencies. Ready Rating members have access to one-of-a-kind tools, resources and information for evaluating and improving their ability to withstand disasters, maintain operations, and protect lives and property.

“Ready Rating has proved valuable to organizations and has served as an important guide for preparedness programs,” Ianni said. “With assessments, online resources, and mobile capabilities, organizations not only strengthened their program’s foundation, but also learn how to continuously improve it, and engage in new ideas and features.”
