Boston is in for a walloping by snow, according to current forecasts, but you still have time to make a plan.
Minimize travel. Do what you can to avoid getting stuck on the roads.
If you need to be on the road, put a blanket and some disaster supplies in your car.
Staying home? Good move. Fill up the car gas tank to avoid freezing.
Bring in the pets. They’re water resistant, sure. But a wet coat and wind isn’t good for anyone.
Think you’re going to lose power? A generator is good, but not inside. Never inside.
Think you’re going to lose power? Drop the temp in the fridge and freezer – colder items stay fresher longer. Also? Power up the cell phone.
Got a twitter feed? Park it at @RedCrossEastMA. We’ll be talking snow all through to Saturday – or whenever it’s safe to start building a fort.
