Thank you to the HELP Association, Inc. for their continued support of the American Red Cross. HELP Association has consistently given to the Red Cross for four years.
HELP's Thrift Shop in Owings raises funds that are circulated back to other non-profit organizations in the Calvert County community. Founded in 1972 to donate household goods to families who had lost their homes to fire, giving gifts and food to needy families and offering rides to people who lacked transportation, the Red Cross is pleased to call HELP Association a partner in our disaster relief work in Calvert County.
About the Red Cross of the Chesapeake Region:
More than twice a day the American Red Cross of the Chesapeake Region provides basic needs to disaster victims such as emergency shelter, food, clothing and counseling to Maryland families after disasters thanks to major support from donors to the United Way campaigns in Maryland. Each day the Red Cross also provides lifesaving blood to area hospitals; teaches lifesaving skills; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its humanitarian mission.
