The American Red Cross presented, “The Biomedical Partnership Award” to 20 year volunteer, Larry Lee Lang of Holmes County, Ohio. Larry was nominated by David Plate, CEO of American Red Cross Blood Services and endorsed by Mary-Alice Frank, CEO of American Red Cross NEO Region, due to his continuous work of reaching out to the Amish community.
This award is presented to an American Red Cross Blood Services volunteer who fosters innovative relationships between a blood region and a chapter. Larry accepted the award at this year’s Awards Recognition Ceremony and Dinner, which took place in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, November 8, 2012.
Larry’s creativity and commitment has solved numerous communication and logistical challenges due to social and religious boundaries. Larry’s hard work resulted in: 490 donors, 3600 platelet units and approximately 6100 single donor platelet units. Congratulations Larry for all your hard work over the years.
