Urgent Need For Red Cross Volunteers in Western Michigan

The American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids serving Kent, Montcalm, Ionia and Barry Counties is in critical need of preparedness education presenters, schedulers and front desk receptionists. Volunteers are needed to teach preparedness education classes to children ranging from 5-17 years of age, scheduling presentations in schools around our four counties and providing excellent customer service to volunteers and community members who walk into the Red Cross office.

Preparedness Education (PE) Volunteers are needed to support the Red Cross Mission by providing education to help prevent, prepare and respond to emergencies. PE presenters should have experience in public speaking, working with children, and must be available for a minimum of one three hour shift during school hours 8 a.m-3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The PE scheduler will assist in contacting schools, and training instructors. The time commitment is 2-4 hours weekly, Monday through Friday.

Receptionist volunteers are the welcoming face of the American Red Cross! We are currently recruiting 5 volunteers to help serve bi-weekly on a 4 hour shift between regular office hours. Requirements include: dependability, strong customer service skills, and an intermediate knowledge of computers.
