Volunteers Honored at the Pioneer Valley 2013 Annual Meeting

These are motivated and committed individuals and we very much look forward to the contributions they will make to the work we do throughout the Pioneer Valley.

The American Red Cross Pioneer Valley Chapter honored several volunteers for their outstanding contributions to the organization at its 105th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, May 15 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.

This year’s honorees included:

Exceptional Volunteer Service Award Recipients

George Rosa, III, Administrative Volunteer of Greenfield was awarded for his tireless efforts and contributions in providing administrative support to the chapter Director, Rick Lee as well as helping to increase fundraising revenues.

Ivy Ward, Disaster Services Volunteer of Wilbraham was recognized for her work as a disaster responder, disaster coordinator and the day to day support she provides the disaster services team. She helps to increase the Chapter’s capacity and preparedness in disaster response and overall disaster operations.

Dorothy F. D’Ambrosio Award for Volunteer Excellence

Ellen Patashnick, Disaster Services Volunteer of Springfield was awarded for her dedication to the overall mission of the American Red Cross. She has been deployed on several disasters regionally and nationally in leadership roles. She truly lives the Red Cross mission and provides leadership and mentorship to other volunteers.

Volunteer Service Awards

Robert White, Board Volunteer of Sunderland and Marcia Conrad, Board Volunteer of Enfield received pins for Red Cross volunteer service of 70 and 60 years respectively.

The Chapter also elected six new Board members to serve as volunteer leaders. “We are thrilled to welcome six brand new members to our Red Cross Board this year. These are motivated and committed individuals and we very much look forward to the contributions they will make to the work we do throughout the Pioneer Valley,” said Rick Lee, Director for the Red Cross Pioneer Valley Chapter.

The newly elected Board members are:

•Mark Dindas, Jewish Community Center, Retired

•John Duffy, Grainger, Inc.

•Eleanor Jones, Clark School For The Deaf (Retired)

•Lisa Kusek, Babson Capital

•Michael Zaskey, Zasco Productions

•Sujing Yang, Capuano Care

A new slate of officers was also elected to the Chapter’s Executive Committee and will serve a one year term:

•Chapter Chair: Matt Hollander, MassMutual Center

•1st Vice Chair: Sarah Corrigan, OMG

•2nd Vice Chair: Brad Campbell, Homebuilders And Remodeler’s Association Of Western Massachusetts

•Secretary: Angelina Ramirez, Stavros Center For Independent Living

•Chair Of Volunteers: Marcia Conrad, Bay Path College, Retired
