Youth volunteers involved in the Red Cross Club at Peabody Learning Academy have proved themselves to be a beacon of inspiration and dedication this holiday season.

The group managed to produce more than 3,600 cards for the sixth annual American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program. The cards generated for this program are distributed to members of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and their families to show support and appreciation for their services.

The program aims to boost morale and remind troops they have not been forgotten. The members of the Red Cross Club have done an exceptional job filling the cards with art, poetry and mementoes of their gratitude.

These students also volunteered their time at the Greater Boston Food Bank on November 12. Their efforts helped provide food for more than 2,247 families in need. The time and energy these young humanitarians have dedicated to the Red Cross is greatly appreciated.
