Stop the Spots Walk

Red Cross Southern Arizona Measels Walk
There will be lots of food, fun and music! Parking is free on campus.

More than 300 children die daily from measles globally. A vaccine costs about $1. The measles vaccine is projected to avert 13.4 million deaths more than all other vaccines.

YOU can help!

On Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the UA Mall, the American Red Cross and Banner-University Medical Center will host its second annual walk to prevent measles and rubella worldwide. The Measles/Rubella Initiative is a global partnership between the American Red Cross, UNICEF, United Nations Foundation, the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

For about $1.00, a child can be vaccinated against measles and rubella, making it one of the most cost-effective health interventions available. With the vaccine the disease is entirely preventable. With the recent devastation of the Ebola epidemic, the measles prevention campaign was derailed, so join us on May 2 to help get it back on track. Bring your family, colleagues and friends, including your four-legged ones on a leash!

There will be lots of food, fun and music! Parking is free on campus.
