Bringing Comfort to Homeless Vets

Bringing Comfort to Homeless Vets
Effort to assist homeless veterans by providing them with food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, benefits counseling and referrals - all under one roof.

On Sept. 13 and 14, L.A. Region Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) representatives distributed comfort kits, blankets and disaster preparedness information to 450 homeless veterans and their dependents at the 2014 Veterans Stand Down. The event, located at the Compton Career Link Center, is part of the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA) effort to assist homeless veterans by providing them with food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, benefits counseling and referrals - all under one roof. Thanks to SAF volunteer Eric Brubaker, and NPRC members Kerry Khan, Sarah Teitell and Justin Kim, who assisted at the weekend event.
