Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. has been a strong partner of the American Red Cross for many years and was recently honored with the L.A. Region’s Corporate Hero Award at the annual Heroes Luncheon. L.A.-based Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. continuously supports the Red Cross mission to provide relief, comfort and service to those in need.
It has been a generous supporter of international disaster relief, most recently donating to aid victims of the Nepal earthquake in April. It also coordinated a company-wide giving campaign that resulted in a significant contribution to the Red Cross General Fund, which provides assistance where the need is greatest.
By recently becoming an Elite Member of the American Red Cross’ Service to the Armed Forces program, Reliance helps the Red Cross connect military families with resources in their communities every day. Reliance’s generous contribution ensures that military members, veterans and their families get the support they need at every stage of military life. In fact, many of the company’s employees and leaders are former members of the military.
Over its more than 75-year history, Reliance has grown from a small family owned Los Angeles business founded in 1939 to a global Fortune 300 company traded on the New York Stock Exchange. The company has continued to grow rapidly since World War II when it supplied steel to numerous defense-related companies, and is now the largest metals service company in North America, supplying over 100,000 products to over 125,000 customers in a broad range of industries.
Through its generous financial contributions, blood drives, and active employee engagement, Reliance has been able to give back to those in need when they need it most.
