We are in the midst of what used to be the 'fire season' in California. However, since the state has been affected by a four-year drought, wildfires are burning out of season. According to Cal Fire (link cdfdata.fire.ca.gov/incidents/incidents_stats), from January 1, 2015 to August 15, 2015 there have been 4, 549 fires burning more than 144,000 acres.
2014 was a year that also brought devastating blazes across the Western states and the Red Cross was there opening shelters and providing the emergency relief that we have been trusted to provide since our organization was created.
