March is Red Cross Month, and the American Red Cross Capital Region is proud to present Save-A-Life Saturdays, an annual tradition offering FREE Hands-Only CPR training sessions and Automated External Difibulator (AED) demonstrations in several locations throughout the region!
In addition to Hands-Only CPR and AED, Red Cross volunteers will be on site sharing information about how to plan for disasters, including how to put together a disaster kit, how to make an emergency plan with your family, and special disaster activities for kids.
“Red Cross Month is an opportunity for us to recognize and thank the everyday heroes in our communities,” said Kathleen Weis, CEO of the Red Cross Capital Region. “A big part of being an ‘everyday hero’ is knowing what to do when the time comes, and Save-A-Life Saturdays provide a great opportunity for people to get involved, get trained, and be ready to respond in an emergency.”
Save-A-Life Saturday events are scheduled for:
Hands-Only CPR is a potentially lifesaving technique involving no mouth-to-mouth contact. It is best used in emergencies where someone has seen another person suddenly collapse. The hands-only technique increases the likelihood of surviving cardiac emergencies that occur outside medical settings.
