When disaster strikes, relief cannot wait.
Families need shelter, food, water, first aid and emotional support. They need the American Red Cross. Every 24 hours the Red Cross responds to a house fire or other type of disaster right here in San Diego and Imperial Counties, providing a Shelter Of Hope to a family in crisis. In less than two minutes a house fire can engulf a home leaving a family with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.
When disasters strike, people need help. It takes the whole community to get them back on their feet and the Red Cross wants to continue to work to make that happen quickly. With generous and thoughtful support, we are there—neighbors helping neighbors.
We depend on the donations we receive to support the many clients we help every day, and that is why we are asking you to help us in providing a Shelter Of Hope to our neighbors in crisis.
Provide families in need with ShelterOfHope.
Join the Shelter Of Hope! Red Cross CEO Bill Earley will be living in a disaster shelter June 1- June7, 2015, traveling throughout the county and popping up in some unexpected places. He will help share our community’s story and remind everyone that the Red Cross is here, providing help and hope every day. The Shelter Of Hope effort is being launched to Help Open People’s Eyes (HOPE) and raise funds for those in need throughout the year. It also brings awareness to the vital services the local Red Cross provides in the community with the help of our partners and supporters.
It costs an average of $550 to help one family of three recover from a disaster. Your generosity will provide care and compassion to families in need throughout our region.
