American Red Cross Selects New CEO for Silicon Valley Chapter
I am deeply honored to be selected to lead this outstanding organization, to be a part of the excellence and humanity the American Red Cross represents in the Silicon Valley and around the world.

The American Red Cross Gateway to the Golden State Region is proud to announce Quinn Tran as the new Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross Silicon Valley Chapter. Her first day was April 28, 2014.

“Quinn has a reputation in Silicon Valley as a brilliant business leader who cares about improving and empowering our community,” said Mark Cloutier, American Red Cross Regional CEO. “She has expertise in supporting diverse teams to excel and exceed goals. She also has earned the respect of donors and foundations through her nonprofit work. A passionate supporter of the Red Cross, Quinn will build on the solid foundation and reputation for compassionate service delivery that we have in Santa Clara County.”

In this position, Tran will provide leadership to the more than 1,600 local volunteers and 11 employees who serve the nearly 2 million residents in Santa Clara County with lifesaving programs and services. Each year, the Silicon Valley Chapter teaches more than 28,000 residents how to prepare themselves and their families for emergencies both big and small. Local Red Cross volunteers respond to an average of 135 local emergencies and helped more than 200 affected residents to recover. Annually, more than 50 local volunteers deploy on national disaster assignments.

“Quinn is a successful community leader with an extensive record of developing solid community relationships that transform vision into action,” said Larry Hebb, Chair of the American Red Cross Silicon Valley Chapter Board of Directors. “We are looking forward to working with Quinn. Her experience and demonstrated ability to lead teams bodes well for the future success of the Silicon Valley Chapter in empowering our residents when possible to care for themselves during emergencies as well and serving those during their greatest time of need.”

“I am deeply honored to be selected to lead this outstanding organization, to be a part of the excellence and humanity the American Red Cross represents in the Silicon Valley and around the world,” said Quinn. “ I look forward to working with the dedicated volunteers, employees, board members, and our generous partners in bringing the innovation and best of everything the Silicon Valley can offer to strengthen our community and to help those in need."

Most recently Quinn was CEO and Managing Partner of GlobAll Connect LLC, a technology development company she co-founded with a focus on Green Tech, Software Services, and Digital Health Solutions. Prior to founding GlobAll Connect, Quinn served as Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer for Kodak NexPress, Kodak's digital imaging company based in Rochester, New York. Quinn was also co-founder and the Vice President and General Manager for ColorgrafX Systems–where she had end-to-end responsibility for developing the business from start-up to a large size company, which was later acquired by Xerox. Quinn was recognized for achieving high-performance metrics such as consistent profitability, Hot-Product awards, excellent customer and employee satisfaction, and best-practices for business innovation.

Quinn is a senior fellow and Board Member of the American Leadership Forum, Silicon Valley Chapter. American Leadership Forum is an organization dedicated to bringing together leaders from diverse sectors of the community to explore leadership philosophies and strengthen their commitment to work together on issues impacting Silicon Valley and the region. Quinn also served on the Board of Directors of numerous Silicon Valley organizations such as The Enterprise Network and The San Jose Children Discovery Museum.

Quinn settled in the United States as a war refugee from Vietnam after the Vietnam War ended in 1975. She received her BS and MBA from San Francisco State University. She now lives in the Bay Area with her large extended family. Returning to her roots, she also acts as an advisor to her home country’s leading universities on policies related to technology and education in the hope of helping Vietnam’s younger generations prepare for the global economy.
