During the week of March 9 – 16, Municipal Winemakers will be donating a portion of the proceeds from their “Bright Red” wine sales to the Santa Barbara Red Cross.
On Wednesday, March 11 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. join the local Red Cross at Municipal Winemakers, 22 Anacapa St., Santa Barbara, 93101, for an evening of wine tasting and learning about local Red Cross programs. Online wine orders placed during the week can also contribute to the local Red Cross chapter; just mention “Red Cross” in the notes when ordering at municipalwinemakers.com.
The same week, Red Cross logo flags will be flying along Downtown Santa Barbara’s historic State Street. The internationally recognized Red Cross emblem has been a powerful symbol of hope and relief since it was first adopted at the Geneva Convention in 1864.
All of these Santa Barbara Red Cross events and festivities happening during March are in honor of Red Cross Month, which is set aside to recognize everyday heroes who help those in need in their community. Santa Barbara residents are invited to discover their inner heroes during Red Cross Month by giving time to help a neighbor, make a financial or blood donation, or take a Red Cross CPR class. Visit redcross.org/santabarbara to learn how to get involved and celebrate Red Cross Month.
Red Cross Month is a tradition that has been upheld by each President since Franklin D. Roosevelt first recognized the organization in 1943.
