Red Cross Helps Families Displaced by Multi-Unit Apartment Fire

Fire Safety

The American Red Cross is providing shelter for three families displaced by an early morning apartment fire in Denver and is continuing to work to assess and meet the needs of residents of 24 units that can’t be inhabited due to the fire.

Red Cross volunteers responded to the scene of the apartment fire at 2405 S. Quebec St in Denver at 4 a.m. today. Red Cross caseworkers have met individually with 14 of the families displaced by the fire to help with their disaster-related needs, and will continue to be on standby to assist other families who were affected but who were not on-scene.

Home fires are the most common disaster to which the Red Cross responds. For lifesaving information about how to prevent fires and protect lives in the face of fires, visit our fire prevention and safety checklist.
