Red Cross Helping Nine People After Friday Fires


The Red Cross is helping nine people after fires Friday night in Sherman and East Windsor.

The Red Cross is helping a family of four – two adults and two children – with emergency housing, food and clothing needs after a fire Friday night on Green Pond Road in Sherman.

The American Red Cross is helping a family of five – two adults and three children – with emergency food, clothing and baby needs after a fire Friday night on Prospect Hill Road in East Windsor. The children were also provided stuffed toys.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire. 

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
