Red Cross Helping Six People After Norwich Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

NORWICH, CONN., January 2, 2015 – The American Red Cross is helping six people – five adults and one child in two families – after a fire today on School Street in Norwich. The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

Red Cross volunteers Bruce Adams, Bernadette Erie and James Hendricks responded to assist the families.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
