Red Cross Helps Two Families After Wednesday Fire in Stratford

The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing and food needs.

STRATFORD, CONN., March 13, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping three adults and one child in two families after a Wednesday fire on Main Street in Stratford. The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing and food needs. The displaced child was provided a stuffed animal toy. Red Cross team members Mike Vincelli and Kristen Binau responded to assist the families.

The Red Cross is also providing to both families comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
