Red Cross Helping Four People After Providence Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing and food needs.

PROVIDENCE, R.I., DECEMBER 4, 2013 – The American Red Cross is helping four adults in two families after a fire early this morning on Fisk Street in Providence. The Red Cross is providing help with emergency needs for housing and food.

Red Cross volunteers Chanell Marte and Freddy Silva responded to assist the families.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire. 

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
